Withania somnifera

Ashwagandha root, sometimes known as Indian ginseng or Winter Cherry, is used in Ayurvedic medicine as a rejuvenating herb that promotes overall health and longevity. Ashwagandha falls under the rasayana branch of Ayurveda, which is concerned with the conservation, transformation and revitalization of energy. Ashwagandha is also considered by herbalists to be an adaptogen, which are natural herbs that are believed to increase the body's resistance to stress, trauma, anxiety and fatigue. It also has antioxidant properties and is reported to have anti-carcinogenic effects.

To use: Take one capsule twice daily with meals, unless otherwise directed by your physician. Do not take more than the recommended dose.
