Ginger has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine as a digestive stimulant and remedy for gastrointestinal upset. In Ayurveda, it is known as a "universal medicine" and it is also valued for its anti-inflammatory effects that can help alleviate swelling and pain caused by arthritis, rheumatism or lymphedema. Ginger has an analgesic effect as well, making it useful for swelling or gastrointestinal issues that are accompanied by pain. Ginger has also shown protective qualities, which research indicates may shield the stomach from the damaging effects of alcohol and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen.
To use: Take two capsules three times daily, unless otherwise directed by your physician.
